Updated 7/9/03 - I just added a shitload of mp3s to the download page, mostly from the Dreams album. Also one from Opi. Download them if you haven't heard them!

Updated 7/7/03 - Okay, change of plans... ready? CHRISTMAS ALBUM!!!! That's right, leave it to Wett to make a genuine Christmas album in the middle of July. So far, the songs we have recorded include: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Silent Night, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Frosty the Snowman, O Come All Ye Faithful, and a few that I can't remember. This will be the best Christmas album in Christmas album history (of course). Characterized by Wett's signature genre-hopping style, it is certainly a great venture in the chronicles of Wett.

Updated 6/20/03 - The site was down...... now it is up!!!! Whoo!

Updated 5/28/03 - Yes! The new album's goin' strong. New song, two words: CALYPSO ROCK!

Updated 5/16/03 - Okay, here's the deal. We are ambitiously planning on 3 more releases before we go off to college in the fall. These will be 2 more albums of all-new material (yes!!) and also a collaboration with Josh Weinberg (MC Superjew). This one will be a rap EP. These will all be awesome. We have a bunch of new songs written for album #4. We have started recording some of them. One of these is a huge prog epic. It will be all decked out with synths, distorted guitars, crazy effects, and impossibly complicated melodies and rhythms. Also, we have started a couple of shorter, faster rock tunes, called "Across the League" and "Night Vision." There's more, but I don't want to ruin the surprise!

Updated 4/9/03 - Holy shit, not to be pompous or anything, but our new album fucking rules! We have completed 21 songs, and the last is scheduled to be done tomorrow. Our most recent recording session was with fellow schoolmates Paul Persechetti (sp?) and Adam Brown, playing trumpet and trombone, respectively. They collaborated with Wett on the song "Grasshopper" and it is now one of our best songs. The collaboration process went really well, and we all clicked with each other. And also, they can also both rip an awesome solo.
So anyway, after the last song is recorded (a rap song with Josh Weinberg (sp?)), we will make a few hundred CDs over spring break, and then the day we get back, we will start selling. The price has been officially set at one dollar, so it will hardly be a hole in your wallet. I suggest you give us a try, mu'fucka!

Updated 1/4/03 - Opi was a huge success (on the Wett scale), and so we felt it would be a logical conclusion to our high school careers to make another album. Dreams will be longer, dumber, and more off-the-wall than its predecessor, with much genre-hopping. We have recorded more than eleven songs for it, and have written quite a bit more than that. In the tentative lineup we will cover ska, death metal, psychedelia, and many other popular styles of music. Simply put, Dreams will be the greatest musical achievement in rock history. Or regular history, for that matter.

Updated 4/15/02 - The release date for the new album, Opi, is officially set for April 20th, 2002. It will be 5 dollars. Far'well.

Updated 12/23/01 - The second album is well on its way. We have about ten songs recorded already, and more written. Here is a preview of the second album:

Big Ships! - a song about an alien invasion...
The Easter Bunny - we did not sing this song ourselves... we got someone named Alex Perlman to sing it...
Elvis and His Pelvis - a pounding, furious speed metal song about Elvis. It is very professional, what with the drop C tuning and the Elvis samples.
The Acrobatic Monkey Ninja Opus - It's coming...

Updated 6/12/01 - June 8 was a magical date for Wett. The first show was a complete success. In less than a week, 20 songs were worked out for live performing. This is a milestone is Wett's formally studio-only career. The final setlist for the show was as follows:

Airbag (Radiohead), Today (Smashing Pumpkins), Don't Get 2 Close (Ween), Sunglasses (Wett), The Grobe (Ween), While My Guitar Gently Weeps (The Beatles), The Chicken Cow (Wesley Willis), Karma Police (Radiohead), Voodoo Lady (Ween), and Bob Barker (Wett).

The music was widely hailed by members of the audience, and the crowds surpassed all expectations. Slampants and uh, Jason's Band, Mr. Fusion, also did an excellent job, and a big thanks goes out to Chris for helping out with the lighting for the show.

This show was also a milestone because it marked the first rehersals and performance with Wett's on-stage drummer, Sam Marx. Stay tuned - if Wett can figure out how to properly record the awesome pounding of this beast, he may even make a debut on Wett's upcoming full-length studio release!

Finally, Wett's entire performance was recorded! One way or another, this performance WILL be made available for all to hear. This could mean Mp3's via this very site, or even an actual cd release(!) Stay tuned for more info as this all develops.

Well that's all for now, talk to ya' soon!

Updated 5/31/01 - The second album has begun production. The Charlie Fun Song was recorded last Saturday, and is sure to be a big hit. We may release this on a single or an EP before we release the second album: who knows? On June 8, Wett will be accompanying Slampants and, uh, Jason's band at the John Jay Middle School eighth grade dance. This is sure to be an excellent show.

Part I: The Saga Begins

Wett is a band that sprouted, innocently enough, from John Jay High School, way back in spring of 2000. The two members, Scott and Wesley, were both freshmen, and both on the track team. They started coming up with little songs, to pass the time at meets and practices and such. After a while, they went to Scott's house and decided to record some of them. This was done with very bad equipment and production: Wesley had a Fender Squier, and a small 20-watt amp. They also possessed a microphone. So, before they knew it, they had a 60-minute tape full of crappy, low-quality recordings. You see, with only one microphone, and no mixing capabilities, this was done by Scott holding the microphone up to the amp while singing. Ear plugs were involved. This tape, my friends, is very possibly the worst thing you will ever hear in your entire life. It contains some songs that would later be re-recorded for the album, such as "Acrobatic Monkey Ninja", as well as some that never made it, such as "The Poop Sh--s Out My Ass", and "I'm in Luv".

Part II: An Album is Created

After some time, the moment of truth came: Scott purchased a digital recording studio, with 8-track mixing capabilites. Only then did the glory begin. Over a span of a few months, Wett's first album, "Fumbuck", was fully recorded. This album was 58 minutes and 45 seconds of pure originality. It included a fuller production, including both members vocalizing, plus guitar, keyboards, and sometimes even synthesized drumming. It contained such hit singles as: "Acrobatic Monkey Ninja", "Evelyn (Why Did You Have To Leave Me?)", "Ugly People", and the classic "Sidewalk Chalk". This album sold over sixty copies in the first week alone. This album truly was a revolution.

Part III: The Saga Continues

Yes, a second album is currently in production. It will, without a doubt, be better than the first album. Wesley, for example, started taking guitar lessons during the creation of the first album. On this album, his masterful guitar experience will range from six months to a year. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes: THIS ALBUM WILL CONTAIN THE CHARLIE FUN SONG!!!
